If one were to look at it, this country is built on difference than on similarities and yet has prosperously worked as the world’s largest democracy for over 70 years; that in itself is cultural identity of the country to the rest of the world. India doesn’t represent in its name any ethnicity, religion, culture, or socio-tribal identity; it simply means the land of Indus. If our state doesn’t define itself as any particular group identity, then why should we?
